Bio 
 

Wednesday Aja is a Southern California-based artist renowned for documenting modern-day subcultures. A graduate of UCLA with a degree in Art History and a background in graphic design, Aja's approach to photography is informed by strong composition, line, and form, combined with a deep understanding of universal visual imagery and cultural references.

Aja spent several years as a photographer for OC Weekly and now works with a diverse range of clients, shooting branded content, editorial, and event photography.

An award-winning photographer, Aja was named Artist-in-Residence at Los Angeles’ Hotel Figueroa in 2019 and was awarded a solo exhibition at John Wayne Airport in Orange County in 2022. In 2023, she served as an “Image and Critical Juror” for the prestigious Festival Internacional del Circ Elefant d'Or in Girona, Spain. A member of Street LA Collective, she exhibited in both the 2022 and 2024 Projecting LA events. Her work has been featured in notable publications including LA Times/Times OC, Dazed, Madame Figaro, Edge of Humanity Magazine, AAP Magazine, MUSÉE Magazine, and F-Stop.

Aja spends several weeks each year documenting and shooting for circuses across the United States and Europe.
